Germany is allocating more than 10 million euros to implement a European Union initiative to establish training centers in Ukraine for the training of military personnel. This was reported by DW, citing German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to him, these funds will be used to create the infrastructure needed to establish fully-fledged training facilities.

The minister noted that the training centers are intended to maintain the high combat readiness of the Ukrainian army, including after a possible peace agreement with Russia.

“This initiative is one of a series of measures to deter Russia in the future,” he said.

To date, nearly 27,000 Ukrainian servicemen have undergone training in Germany, Pistorius added.

Visit of the German Defense Minister to Kyiv

On May 11, the German Defense Minister visited Kyiv. During this visit, Pistorius announced his intention to expand bilateral cooperation with Ukraine in the defense sector. According to him, this effort will focus on the joint development of modern unmanned systems of all ranges—”especially in the area of Deep Strike” (for striking deep into enemy territory).

“In this way, we will strengthen the security of both our countries,” the minister stated.

Earlier, the newspaper Die Welt reported, citing several unnamed EU and NATO diplomats, that the German government is exploring the possibility of establishing a joint U.S.-German venture to produce Tomahawk cruise missiles starting in 2028 on German territory.
