A pilot project is being implemented in the Myronivska community in the Kyiv region to create a modular housing town for internally displaced persons with the possibility of further employment.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing a statement from the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
The relevant memorandum was signed by the Ministry of Development, the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the Myronivka City Council, and the charitable organization “MHP – Hromadi.”
The document was signed by Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba, Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk, First Deputy Mayor of Myronivka Dmytro Zhukotansky, and Chairman of the Fund’s Supervisory Board Yuriy Melnyk.
The project involves the construction of up to 200 modern modular houses on a 12-hectare site in Myronivka. The housing is planned to provide accommodation for about 600 IDPs, with the first residents expected to move in as early as 2026.
“At the same time, we are building a neighborhood of 1,000 apartments for Mariupol residents in Bila Tserkva, launching a project in Hoshcha for residents of Bakhmut, and preparing solutions for IDPs in Kamyanske and Zakarpattia. In total, there are about 30 such projects in various communities, providing housing for approximately 40,000 people,” said the head of the agency, Oleksiy Kuleba.
In addition to housing, the town’s concept includes the creation of jobs in the community’s municipal and economic spheres, autonomous infrastructure, barrier-free space, enhanced security standards in the “Citadel” format, recreation areas, and 5G coverage.
The Ministry of Development will coordinate the implementation of the project, the community will provide land, develop a detailed plan for the territory, and maintain the town, while the MHP – Community fund will furnish the houses and facilitate the employment of residents.
Funding will be provided through a mixed model — from state, regional, and local budgets, as well as with the support of private partners and donors.
