Fraudsters are collecting personal data of Ukrainians, posing as organizers of a fake charity event from UNICEF. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The Center recorded the spread of a video on the social network TikTok about an alleged charity event from the UNICEF Foundation for Ukrainian children on St. Nicholas Day.

“Users are urged to click on the link in the profile header and fill out a questionnaire to ‘receive help’. Such content is created for fraud or to increase the reach of anonymous Telegram channels, links to which are left in the profile,” the statement said.

The video promises gifts for children: winter clothing and footwear, school kits, toys, sweets, gadgets, as well as humanitarian and material assistance. Users are asked to follow the link in the profile and fill out a questionnaire to “receive assistance.”

UNICEF reported on its Facebook page that the information about such a charity event is not true.

“Unfortunately, fraudulent ads on behalf of UNICEF continue to spread online! We emphasize that we do not accept applications for St. Nicholas Day gift sets. So be careful, do not go to third-party resources and do not share your personal data!” UNICEF said.

In case of fraud, UNICEF advises to contact the Cyber Police:
