Another Wildberries giant is on fire: drones struck one of Russia’s largest logistics centers

On the night of August 2, drones attacked one of the largest logistics centers belonging to the Russian marketplace Wildberries in the Vladimir Region of the Russian Federation. The strike caused a fire on the complex’s grounds. Both the region’s governor and the company’s press office confirmed the attack.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Russian media and statements from local authorities.
A strategic logistics center was targeted
According to Russian media reports, drones attacked the Wildberries logistics complex, which covers an area of 171,900–175,000 square meters.
This is one of the company’s largest regional distribution centers, capable of simultaneously storing approximately 122 million units of goods.
It is through this complex that products are distributed between:
- the Moscow region;
- central Russia;
- the northwestern regions;
- the northern regions of the European part of the Russian Federation.
Oleksandr Avdeev, governor of the Vladimir Region, confirmed damage to the warehouse complex and a fire, but initially did not specify the name of the company.
Subsequently, Wildberries’ press service officially confirmed that it was their logistics center that had been attacked.

Drones also attacked a university involved in UAV development
In addition to the Wildberries warehouse, a university in Belgorod was also targeted.
According to local media reports, drones may have been assembled and tested there.
Previously, the university had reported on the development of an automated UAV control system based on the Russian “Milandr” microprocessor, although the project was officially stated to be for civilian use.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported an attack by more than 130 drones
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 131 drones were allegedly shot down overnight.
According to the ministry, the drones attacked:
- the Belgorod region;
- the Bryansk region;
- the Voronezh region;
- the Kaluga region;
- Kursk Oblast;
- Lipetsk Oblast;
- Oryol Oblast;
- Smolensk Oblast;
- Tula Oblast;
- Krasnodar Krai;
- Occupied Crimea;
- the Black Sea waters.
Wildberries is increasingly becoming a target of attacks
In recent weeks, Wildberries’ logistics centers have been regularly hit by drone strikes.
Previously, fires following attacks were reported at the company’s warehouses in:
- the Volgograd region;
- Penza;
- Sarapul;
- St. Petersburg;
- Yekaterinburg;
- Simferopol and other regions.
Large logistics complexes can be used not only for civilian trade but also to support dual-use logistics operations.
According to estimates by the Financial Times, following a series of strikes on Wildberries’ first warehouse complexes, the company has become one of the most vulnerable elements of Russia’s logistics system. Experts suggest that prolonged disruptions to the largest marketplace could cost the Russian budget tens of billions of rubles in tax revenue.
