What is known about Prince Harry’s visit to Kyiv
This is the Duke of Sussex’s third trip to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
In 2025, he had already visited Ukraine to support wounded soldiers and veterans associated with the Invictus Games Foundation. His current visit to Kyiv is yet another demonstration of his public support for Ukraine.
The Sun reports that the trip to Kyiv took place following Prince Harry’s recent visit to Australia with Meghan. Against this backdrop, Harry’s appearance in Ukraine came as a surprise and was not announced in advance.
The publication notes that Harry traveled to Kyiv by train after a Russian drone struck a railway station in the Zaporizhzhia region, killing at least one worker.
He was met at the Kyiv train station by Ukraine’s Minister for Veterans Affairs, Natalia Kalmykova, and the director of the “Open Ukraine” Foundation, Ramina Shut.

The Sun also reports that the visit was organized in collaboration with the Open Ukraine Foundation.
Prince Harry is expected to be one of the speakers at the Kyiv Security Forum.
The forum’s website confirms that the event is taking place under the auspices of Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s “Open Ukraine” Foundation. British media outlets explicitly state that Harry is set to address forum participants in Kyiv.
According to The Sun, during his stay in Ukraine, Prince Harry wants to remind people in the UK and around the world of the challenges Ukraine faces, as well as to support those who work daily under extremely difficult conditions. The publication also reports that in his address, he is expected to urge the world “not to become numb to the conflict” and not to grow accustomed to the war in Ukraine.
What is the purpose of Prince Harry’s trip to Kyiv
The Sun reports that Prince Harry’s visit to Kyiv has not only a symbolic but also a humanitarian dimension. According to the publication, he plans to support Ukrainians working with wounded soldiers and civilians, as well as meet with people involved in rehabilitation and demining efforts.
The publication notes that Harry refers to Ukraine as “Europe’s eastern flank,” which is bravely defending itself against Russian aggression.
British media also report that during his visit to Ukraine, Prince Harry may visit the deminers of the charitable organization HALO Trust. This organization is well-known worldwide for its demining work, and the fact that his mother, Princess Diana, was also associated with HALO Trust draws additional attention to it.
Harry, who spent 10 years in the British Army, is also expected to spend time with Ukrainian participants in his “Invictus Games” foundation, which helps wounded veterans recover through sports.
Harry said:
“I am here to reconnect and listen, to remind people at home and around the world of what Ukraine is facing, and to support the people and partners who are doing extraordinary work every hour of every day under incredibly difficult conditions.”
