4 July 05:52

Russian troops launched a strike with guided aerial bombs (GAB) on the “Chornobaivska” poultry farm in the Kherson region, which is considered one of the largest enterprises in the poultry industry in Ukraine and Europe. The attack sparked a massive fire, and a significant portion of the production complex was destroyed. This was reported by the press service of “Ukrlandfarming, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to the company, Russian aerial bombs struck the enterprise’s territory directly.

As a result of the attack:

  • a massive fire broke out;
  • a significant portion of the production facilities was destroyed;
  • preliminary losses are estimated at hundreds of millions of dollars.

The company emphasized that the “Chornobaivska” poultry farm is one of the most modern and largest poultry enterprises not only in Ukraine but also in Europe.

The facility has been targeted by Russia on multiple occasions

The press office noted that this is not the first attack by Russian forces on the facility.

At the start of the full-scale invasion, during the occupation of part of the Kherson region, the poultry farm was completely cut off from power and blockaded by Russian troops.

Due to the inability to maintain production , 4.7 million birds died at that time.

In addition, during the occupation, the facility was looted: Russian troops removed modern equipment and vehicles and damaged the production infrastructure.

Production was successfully resumed after de-occupation

After the liberation of the right-bank part of the Kherson region, the Ukrlandfarming group of companies resumed operations at the facility and gradually restored production.

However, a new attack by Russian forces once again caused serious damage to one of the key facilities of Ukraine’s agro-industrial complex.

The company is currently assessing the extent of the damage and the amount of losses incurred.
