A Russian drone attacked a foreign vessel in the Black Sea: 16 sailors were rescued

Russian occupation forces attacked the foreign cargo ship Golden Rose with a strike drone in the Black Sea. After being hit, a massive fire broke out on board, and the crew had to be evacuated immediately. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to preliminary information, a Russian attack drone struck the stern of the bulk carrier Golden Rose.
Following the strike, a massive fire broke out on the vessel, which was detected using the Coast Guard’s surveillance equipment.
Boats from the State Border Guard Service immediately headed to the scene.







The evacuation took place amid the threat of further attacks
The State Border Guard Service reported that the rescue operation took place under extremely difficult conditions.
Border guards worked:
- at night;
- under the constant threat of repeated attacks by Russian drones;
- amid the possibility of missile strikes.
Despite the danger, the boat crews were able to approach the burning vessel and safely evacuate all crew members.
Who was on board the Golden Rose
According to the State Border Guard Service, 16 sailors were evacuated from the vessel.
Among them were:
- 2 Syrian citizens;
- 14 Egyptian citizens.
All those rescued were brought ashore, where they underwent medical examinations.
According to preliminary reports, none of the crew members were injured.

Russia continues to attack civilian shipping
This is not the first time Russia has attacked civilian vessels operating in the Black Sea.
Russian strikes on Ukraine’s port and maritime infrastructure pose a constant threat to international shipping, export shipments, and the safety of foreign crews.
Previously, ten people were killed as a result of a Russian attack on a merchant vessel flying the flag of Guinea-Bissau near Odesa; among the victims was a pilot from the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.”
Ukraine continues to ensure the security of the maritime corridor
Despite regular attacks by Russia, the Ukrainian military and border guards continue to ensure the functioning of the maritime humanitarian corridor and conduct rescue operations in the event of emergencies.
The State Border Guard Service emphasized that the top priority during the operation was to save the crew’s lives, which they succeeded in doing despite the challenging security situation.
