Defense forces struck the Ozon logistics hub in Russia for the first time: what are the consequences?
22 August 11:17
On the night of August 22, the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out their first successful strike on a logistics hub belonging to the Ozon marketplace in the city of Chapaevsk, Samara Oblast, Russia, causing a massive fire at the facility. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing EP.
Details: A massive fire broke out on the complex’s grounds after drones struck the area. The fire quickly spread over a large area, and a thick plume of smoke rose above the facility.
The logistics hub in Chapaevsk, with an area of 135,000 square meters, is one of the largest warehouse facilities in the Volga region. Investment in its construction totaled approximately 5 billion rubles.
Ozon is the second-largest marketplace in the Russian e-commerce market, second only to the Wildberries network.
As a reminder, in July, the Ukrainian Defense Forces began systematically destroying the occupiers’ logistics infrastructure, through which Russian units are mass-purchasing dual-use goods, ammunition, communications equipment, and drone components.
