Sumy region under constant fire: mandatory evacuation announced in 8 settlements

In Sumy region, due to the escalation of the situation at the border, a decision was made to mandatorily evacuate residents of eight more settlements of the Yunakivska and Miropilska communities. The decision was made during a meeting of the Regional Defense Council on Thursday, March 13, reports
The situation on the border of Sumy region remains extremely tense due to intense shelling by Russian troops. The activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRGs) has increased, and the use of air strikes, including guided aerial bombs (GABs) and FPV drones, has intensified.
Due to the aggravation of the security situation, a decision was made to mandatorily evacuate residents of eight settlements of the Yunakivska and Miropilska communities.
Volodymyr Artyukh, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, said that the situation at the border remains tense but under control. He emphasized that Russian troops have not crossed the border and have not captured any settlements.
According to the decision of the Defense Council, 543 people, including children,will be evacuated . For this purpose, the National Police, the State Emergency Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be deployed.
The head of Sumy region appealed to the residents of the communities where evacuation was announced with a request not to ignore the decision and not to endanger themselves. He also noted that those who refuse to evacuate complicate the work of the Ukrainian military.
The authorities also urged residents to trust only official sources of information and not to fall for Russian information and psychological operations (IPO).

Earlier, the Russian Telegram channel Mash wrote that Russian troops are trying to take control of the so-called Life Line, the only paved road between Ukrainian Yunakivka and Russian Sudzha, to complicate the supply and logistics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
And a few days ago, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said that Russian occupation forces are trying to break through the border in Sumy region to cut off the logistics routes of the Ukrainian military.
