There may be less electricity: regional power companies report stricter power restrictions

30 June 17:59

Distribution system operators (DSOs, regional power companies) are reporting a possible tightening of electricity supply restrictions on the first day of July, as well as the introduction of additional rolling blackouts for the evening of Tuesday, June 30, compared to those previously announced, according to monitoring by Energoreforma, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

Tighter Restrictions

“Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo” has announced that on Wednesday, hourly power outage schedules (HPOS) may be implemented from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for residential customers, with 1 to 1.5 rounds active simultaneously.

In addition, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., power restriction schedules (PRS) are expected to be applied in full (5 stages) for industry and businesses.

Similar restrictions are planned for industrial consumers in the Vinnytsia region; for residential customers, this involves a Level 1 outage.

“On July 1, from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., load-shedding schedules are expected to be implemented for industrial and residential consumers in the Carpathian region,” announced “Prykarpattyaoblenergo.”

Therefore, the duration of power outages on Wednesday may increase by 2 hours compared to what was announced for Tuesday, when “Ukrenergo” planned to restrict electricity supply from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for industry and businesses, as well as for the general public in all regions of Ukraine. It was expected that residential customers would be subject to power outages on Tuesday during the same hours, with restrictions ranging from 0.5 to 1 stage.

Introduction of Additional Evening Power Cuts

At the same time, a number of regional power distribution companies are currently reporting the introduction of additional evening power cuts. For example, “Chernihivoblenergo” was initially scheduled to cut power to residential customers in a single rotation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., but has clarified that another rotation will be added from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The updated forecast from “Mykolaivoblenergo” also calls for two power outages at different times between 4:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

A similar situation exists in the Cherkasy region, where two rotation periods are also planned from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. In the Rivne region, 1.5 rotation periods are planned for the same time frame.

At the same time, as previously reported, in Sumy Oblast, emergency power outage schedules were implemented at certain times throughout the day, which were replaced in the afternoon by even stricter special emergency power outage schedules.

Ukrenergo cites the extremely hot weather, combined with a power shortage caused by Russian attacks, as the reason for these restrictions.
