Oil prices continued to fall on global markets

Oil prices fell on Monday, June 22, to $75 per barrel, while the benchmark Brent crude fell below $80 per barrel. This information comes from Tradingeconomics statistics, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
On Monday, June 22, the price of a barrel of oil stood at $75.3 per barrel. Meanwhile, the price of the benchmark Brent crude stood at $79 per barrel.
Overall, prices have fallen by approximately $1 since the previous business day, Friday.
On the night of June 15, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the conclusion of a peace agreement with Iran and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
“I hereby grant full authorization for the unimpeded opening of the Strait of Hormuz and, at the same time, authorize the immediate lifting of the U.S. naval blockade. Ships of the world, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” the U.S. president declared.
Since the beginning of last week, Brent has fallen by about 9% and WTI by nearly 10% amid the agreement reached between Washington and Tehran, which provides, in particular, for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. On Thursday, June 18, three ships flying the Saudi Arabian flag, carrying a total of 6 million barrels of oil, as well as several other tankers, passed through the strait.
