DIU Recruiting Center Opened in Kyiv: How to Join the Ranks of Military Intelligence

The first public Recruitment Center of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has been launched in Kyiv. The new platform will become an entry point for those who want to join the elite military intelligence units and defend the country at the highest level. This was reported on the official Telegram channel of the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
DIU selection: only 1 out of 100
According to the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, service in the department is a challenge for the best. According to him, only one out of a hundred candidates passes all stages of selection and gets a chance to serve in the military intelligence.
“The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine is primarily about highly qualified and motivated servicemen. On average, out of hundreds of candidates, only one gets the right to serve in the military intelligence,” Budanov emphasized.
According to him, careful selection and a focus on quality is a targeted strategy that has helped to form an elite military environment.
“The result of this approach is nine sunken ships and boats of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, successful raids into the enemy’s rear and thousands of eliminated occupants,” Budanov emphasized.
Who can become an intelligence officer: what the DIU is looking for
Intelligence is looking for adaptable, courageous and decisive people who are ready to act in conditions of constant risk and instability. The emphasis is not on the quantity but on the quality of personnel, which allows us to form a true elite of the Ukrainian army.
He also emphasized that the ability to adapt, willingness to take risks and work on the edge are the traits the DIU is looking for in candidates.

What does recruitment involve: selection stages
Candidates will undergo the following stages at the Center:
- Basic testing;
- Interviews with the DIU representatives;
- Consultations on service and opportunities in various units.
The selection process will be strict but transparent, with an emphasis on professionalism, motivation and readiness to work in the most demanding conditions.
Why was the DIU Recruitment Center established?
The main goal of the Center is to establish direct contact with citizens who have the potential and desire to serve in the DIU, especially under martial law.
It is also an element of the strategy of building an effective, professional and updated security system of Ukraine.
