Ukrainian drones attacked the Caspian Transport Company’s maritime terminal and three Russian oil depots

On the night of July 18–19, Ukrainian drones attacked the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) marine terminal in Novorossiysk, as well as three oil depots in the Stavropol Krai. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Russian propaganda media.
According to the CPC, the strike targeted two offshore mooring facilities—VPU-1 and VPU-3. At the time of the attack, oil was being loaded through them onto the tankers ASIA (oil from Tengizchevroil) and NISSOS IOS (oil from KMG Kashagan B.V. and Maten). As a result, loading was suspended. The consortium stated that there were no casualties, an oil spill was avoided, and both tankers remained afloat. Experts are currently assessing the extent of the damage.

In the Stavropol Krai, fires broke out at industrial facilities following a drone attack, Governor Vladimir Vladimirov reported. Astra analyzed photographs and video footage from eyewitnesses and concluded that three oil depots were hit. Specifically, in the village of Vyazniki in the Shpakivsky District, a Rosneft oil depot is on fire, as well as a facility located at Promyslova Street, a facility where two legal entities are registered: Korona LLC and MK-Naftoprodukt LLC. In addition, a fire broke out at the Stavropol “Lukoil-Yugnaftoprodukt” oil depot at 19 Kolomiytseva Street. The facility includes 42 storage tanks with a total capacity of approximately 57,600 cubic meters.
The Security Service of Ukraine soon confirmed that strikes had been carried out on three oil depots in the Stavropol region—according to the agency, large-scale fires broke out at all facilities, and explosions and fires in tanks containing fuel and lubricants were recorded. The security service also reported that a “Mamai” maritime drone had struck the Avero, a tanker belonging to Russia’s “shadow fleet,” in the Black Sea.
“The tanker ‘Avero’ was used to transport Russian crude oil during the oil embargo imposed by the G7 countries and the EU. The vessel transported oil, in particular, to China and India… It is precisely such ‘shadow fleet’ vessels that help the Kremlin circumvent international restrictions, ensure oil exports, and obtain funds to finance the war,” the SBU statement reads.
In the wake of the attack, Stavropol authorities declared a municipal-level state of emergency and evacuated residents from nearby buildings. According to official reports, there were no casualties. Vladimirov reported two fire outbreaks in the industrial zone of the Vyazniki settlement, as well as a fire in the industrial zone north of Stavropol, near the border with the Shpakivsky District.
In addition, in the Kursk region, drones struck four apartment buildings, Governor Alexander Khinshtein reported. According to him, apartments and building facades were damaged, and a fire broke out in an apartment in one of the buildings. Residents were evacuated, and one person was injured.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, overnight, air defense forces “intercepted and destroyed” 140 Ukrainian drones over eight regions of the country, the annexed Crimea, as well as over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas.
