Netflix and the Ukrainian Film Academy have announced the results of a grant program for Ukrainian filmmakers. Fifteen feature-length fiction film projects currently in the screenplay development stage will receive funding. Each team will receive a grant of $15,000. This was reported by the Ukrainian Film Academy, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

The program aims to support Ukrainian cinema in the development stage. Original feature-length narrative films with a runtime of at least 70 minutes that were in the development stage at the time of application were eligible to participate.

What the grant program winners will receive

Each of the 15 selected projects will receive financial support in the amount of $15,000 at the interbank exchange rate. In addition to the grant, the program provides additional expert assistance for script development.

Specifically, participants will receive:

  • translation of the screenplay into English with the assistance of the Ukrainian Film Academy;
  • mentoring sessions and consultations with script doctors;
  • support from EAVE (European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs) experts;
  • consultations on project positioning and securing further funding.

This year’s program marks another step in supporting Ukrainian filmmakers through a partnership between Netflix and the Ukrainian Film Academy. In March 2026, the Film Academy announced the launch of the fifth round of this support.
