An atmospheric front is set to sweep across Ukraine: where to expect rain and thunderstorms

On Friday, May 8, the weather in Ukraine will begin to change. An atmospheric front will bring brief showers and thunderstorms to the western regions, and by evening, precipitation may reach parts of the central and northern regions. Meanwhile, the east will still enjoy nearly summer-like warmth—up to 28°C.
This was reported by meteorologist Natalka Didenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Where will it rain on May 8?
According to the forecaster’s prediction, on Friday an atmospheric front will bring short-lived rain and thunderstorms to Ukraine.
Precipitation is expected primarily in the western regions of Ukraine. In the afternoon and evening, rain may spread to:
- Vinnytsia region;
- Zhytomyr region;
- Kyiv region.
At the same time, the rain will not be continuous. According to Natalka Didenko, precipitation will be localized, meaning that while some areas may experience a downpour or thunderstorm, neighboring areas may remain dry.
Where will the weather be dry
Dry weather will persist across most of Ukraine on Friday, May 8.
The day will pass without significant precipitation in many central, southern, and eastern regions. However, the gradual arrival of cooler air will already begin to lower temperatures in the west and parts of the center of the country.
The meteorologist noted that the heat will subside in the near future, and spring weather will return to more comfortable levels.

What will the temperature be on May 8?
The temperature will drop most noticeably in western Ukraine. There, temperatures are expected to range from 18° to 21° during the day, and in some places only 16° to 18°.
It will be warmest in the eastern regions. There, temperatures will reach 25–28°C.
In the rest of Ukraine, temperatures are forecast to reach 22–26°C during the day.
Weather in Kyiv on May 8
In Kyiv on Friday, the approach of a cold front will also be felt.
The air temperature in the capital will drop to comfortable levels, reaching around 23–24°C.
Rain and thunderstorms in Kyiv are possible mainly in the afternoon. At the same time, precipitation, as in other regions, may be localized.
