A cold front will persist in Ukraine on May 29: where to expect rain and wind

On Friday, May 29, cool weather will persist across Ukraine. A cold air mass will dominate the country, so rain is expected in most regions, and daytime temperatures will remain low for late May.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to the forecast, rain is expected across almost all of Ukraine, except for the western region. Thunderstorms are possible in some parts of the southern part of the country. Winds will pick up during the day on the Right Bank.
Where will it rain on May 29?
Rainy weather is expected in most regions of Ukraine on Friday. Precipitation is not forecast only in the western regions.
At the same time, in the south of the country, rain will be accompanied by thunderstorms in some areas.
Due to a cold air mass, the weather will remain unstable and cool. Even where precipitation is brief, the wind may make it feel colder.
Winds will pick up in Ukraine
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on May 29, winds will be from the northwest at 7–12 m/s.
During the day, gusts of 15–20 m/s are expected in most regions of the Right Bank.
Also, on the afternoon of May 29, strong wind gusts are forecast in the western regions, except for Zakarpattia, as well as in Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, and Odesa regions.
Because of this , forecasters have issued a Level I hazard warning (yellow).
What does a yellow danger level mean?
A yellow danger level means that weather conditions may be potentially dangerous for the public, transportation, and public utilities.
During strong winds, be careful outdoors; do not park cars under trees, near advertising structures, or near old buildings.
Pedestrians are advised to avoid power lines, construction sites, and areas where branches or debris may fall.
What will the temperature be on May 29?
Air temperatures in Ukraine will remain cool.
At night, forecasters predict temperatures of 4–10 degrees.
During the day, the air will warm up to only 13–18 degrees.
For the end of May, these figures are quite low, so Ukrainians should dress warmer, especially in the morning and evening.
Weather in Kyiv and the region
No significant precipitation is expected in the Kyiv region or in Kyiv on the night of May 29. Short-lived showers are forecast during the day.
The wind will be northwesterly, 7–12 m/s. During the day, gusts of 15–18 m/s are possible in some areas.
Temperatures in the Kyiv region will range from 4 to 9 degrees at night and 13 to 18 degrees during the day.
In Kyiv, temperatures are expected to be 7–9 degrees at night and 14–16 degrees during the day.
Where will it be windiest
The strongest wind gusts on May 29 are forecast for most regions of the Right Bank.
Separately, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warns of gusts of 15–20 m/s in the following regions:
- western regions, except for Zakarpattia;
- Zhytomyr region;
- Vinnytsia region;
- Odesa region.
It is in these regions that a yellow danger level has been declared due to strong winds.
