NovaPay is lowering its cash-on-delivery fees: who will pay less
29 May 12:55
NovaPay is expanding options for more cost-effective cash-on-delivery payments. Starting June 1, customers who pay with NovaPay cards will be able to pay lower fees at branch offices, self-service kiosks, and via direct debit. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the company’s press office.
What will change starting June 1
Starting June 1, NovaPay is expanding the list of scenarios in which customers can pay for cash-on-delivery parcels at a reduced rate.
Previously, the lower fee was available mainly in the NovaPay and Nova Poshta mobile apps. Now, it will also be possible to pay cash on delivery with a lower fee:
- at branches;
- at self-service kiosks;
- via direct debit;
- in the NovaPay app;
- in the Nova Poshta app.
The main condition is that payment must be made with a NovaPay card or a NovaPay credit card.
What will the fee be for cash on delivery?
For customers paying cash on delivery with NovaPay cards, the fee will be:
- 1% 10 UAH
For those who pay in cash or with a card from another bank, the fee will remain the same:
- 2% 20 UAH
This means that NovaPay card users will be able to pay less for cash-on-delivery packages in the most common scenarios for receiving shipments.
NovaPay explained why they are changing the terms
Yana Levada, Deputy CEO of Retail Business at NovaPay, noted that cash on delivery remains one of the most popular ways to pay for parcels in Ukraine.
“In fact, NovaPay is making cash-on-delivery payments cheaper for millions of Ukrainians in the most common shopping scenarios. Today, approximately one in three parcels in Ukraine is processed via cash on delivery. For the customer, cash on delivery is first and foremost about trust and convenience: seeing the goods first and paying later. We want this scenario to be not only convenient but also more cost-effective for NovaPay users,” she commented.
According to the company, the new features are designed to make cash-on-delivery payments simpler and more affordable for customers who actively use NovaPay services.

How this will work in practice
NovaPay explained that during payment, the terminal will initially display the full commission amount. This is because the system does not yet know which specific card the customer will use to pay.
Once the customer swipes their NovaPay card or NovaPay credit card, the fee is automatically recalculated. The amount is reduced to a rate of 1% or 10 UAH.
In other words, the customer does not need to contact the operator or take any additional steps—the system will automatically identify the NovaPay card and apply the lower commission.

Additional benefits in the NovaPay app
In addition to the reduced rate, NovaPay app users can get an extra 20% discount on cash-on-delivery fees and shipping costs when they pay through the NovaPay app.
This means that for customers who regularly receive cash-on-delivery packages, using the NovaPay app and card can be a way to reduce shipping costs.
NovaPay has already updated its cash-on-delivery rates
As a reminder, on April 29, NovaPay updated its cash-on-delivery rates for sellers and buyers. The company stated that the new terms are simpler and more advantageous.
Businesses now have the option to choose between two pricing models depending on their financial situation and customer scenario. Buyers now have the opportunity to save on cash-on-delivery payments.
The most favorable terms apply to users of NovaPay accounts and cards.
Businesses are increasingly switching to NovaPay accounts
Business clients have already embraced the new rates. According to the company, in May 2026, the number of entrepreneurs who switched their cash-on-delivery payments to NovaPay accounts more than doubled.
At the same time, 97% of business clients choose the “Universal” rate plan. The company notes that it allows for cost optimization for both the seller and the buyer.
What this means for buyers
For buyers, the changes mean the opportunity to pay less for cash-on-delivery packages. This can be particularly noticeable for those who frequently order goods with payment upon receipt.
If a customer uses a NovaPay card, they can reduce the fee when paying at a branch, at a self-service kiosk, in apps, or via direct debit.
