Raspberry season has begun in Ukraine: what will happen to prices for the berries?

The peak season for Ukrainian berries begins in July. The raspberry harvest will be larger than last year’s, but prices for the berries will also rise, Denis Mironov, an analyst with the “Berry Growing of Ukraine” association, told UNIAN, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
“The raspberry harvest is expected to increase by approximately 4–8% compared to 2025. As for prices, raspberries have already risen in price by an average of 10–15%,” the expert said.
Overall, yields for most berries in Ukraine have increased, though only slightly, compared to last year’s figures. Meanwhile, currants, unlike raspberries, have maintained their prices at 2025 levels.
“According to our estimates, yields per unit of planted area have increased slightly compared to last year, but they are still lower than in 2023–2024. Currant prices are fluctuating less than last year and generally remain close to 2025 levels,” says the analyst.
July marks the peak of the raspberry and currant season, so prices for these berries from domestic producers will be at their lowest.
“The domestic market for raspberries and currants is almost entirely supplied by Ukrainian produce. Ukraine is one of the largest producers and exporters of these berries in Europe, so there is no economic need to import them during the season. The main factor determining the market situation is price, not a shortage of produce,” notes Mironov.
As a reminder, the sweet cherry season in Ukraine is already coming to an end; this summer, sweet cherries became one of the most affordable berries. They were sold “straight from the fields” for 40–60 UAH/kg. Experts say these low prices will remain for about another week.
