The price of bread in Ukraine will rise significantly: when will prices be adjusted?
4 July 14:09
Over the next two to three months, bread prices in Ukraine will rise by 5–6%. This was reported on the air of Den.LIVE by Denis Marchuk, deputy chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to the expert, there will be no food shortages in Ukraine, as farmers have even increased the acreage planted with certain crops this year due to more favorable prices. However, other challenges are affecting food costs, including logistics, crop storage, and labor costs.
Denis Marchuk added that the rise in bread prices is a steady trend, as prices increase by 1.5–2% each month. This summer, new rules regarding employee reservations will also affect its cost.
“There’s also the factor of new hiring criteria, as stated by the Association of Bakery Product Manufacturers, since wage increases—which must reflect today’s critical conditions—must reach at least 26,000 hryvnias. Consequently, this will entail additional costs,” he noted.
The official added that due to these factors, bread prices will rise by 5–6% over the next 2–3 months.
