Vance names new possible dates for ending the war in Ukraine

The United States hopes that the conflict in Ukraine can be resolved within three to six months through active diplomacy and international efforts.

This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to an interview with US Vice President J.D. Vance for the Meet the Press program on NBC News.

“This is a war and we want to stop the killing. The Russians have done a lot of things we don’t like, a lot of civilians have died. We condemned it from the very beginning,” Vance emphasized.

The US Vice President noted that, in his opinion, current President Donald Trump has done more to put pressure on the Russians than his predecessor Joe Biden.

“What outrages me? I’m outraged by the continuation of the war… What really makes me happy now? The fact that we have a president who is engaged in vigorous diplomacy to try to stop the killing. This is the way it should be,” he assured.

He emphasized that the American people should be proud of this.

“And whatever the outcome is – whether the war ends in three or six months, hopefully not later – we should be proud that we have a president who is trying to stop the killing,” he assured.

It is worth noting that Vance also emphasized during the interview that the Russians had to give in to some of their demands.

In particular, the vice president assured that the Kremlin had to recognize that Russia would not be able to establish a puppet regime in Kyiv, and that Ukraine would retain its territorial integrity after the war.

As the American leader noted, a summit between Zelenskyy and Putin may take place in the coming weeks.
