Students travelling abroad: the State Border Guard Service comments on the situation

Male students cross the border of Ukraine as usual. There has been no sharp increase in the number of those wishing to leave the country. This was stated in a comment to Komersant ukrainskyi
this was reported by the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko.
As of today, 3 April, male students can cross the border under certain conditions during martial law.
The State Border Guard Service said that there has been no sharp increase in the number of students wishing to travel outside the country.
“Everything is as usual, as usual,”
– said Andriy Demchenko.
Yesterday, on 2 April, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution allowing male students to travel abroad.
According to the new rules, male students will be able to travel abroad if they are
- are between the ages of 18 and 22;
- are not subject to military service during mobilisation;
- studying full-time in Ukrainian higher education institutions of state or municipal ownership;
- obtain a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree in medicine, pharmacy or veterinary medicine);
- are participants of the so-called “educational academic mobility” – that is, they go abroad temporarily for study or internship to gain new knowledge and experience.
- go to study at foreign educational institutions for a period not exceeding 1 semester.
List of documents required for travelling abroad:
- student’s e-ticket;
- a referral from the university;
- a certified copy of the agreement with a foreign university on admission to the academic mobility programme;
- a military reference document from the TCC.
The Ministry of Education and Science will not issue any special permits.
