Zelenskyy signed decrees imposing new sanctions: the restrictions will target collaborators and former officials from Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed several new packages of sanctions against Russians. He announced this during his evening video address, according to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the Office of the President.

“Today … I signed decrees imposing new sanctions—several packages. Against the Russian military-industrial complex, against those individuals who have, in one way or another, become part of the Russian way of life and maintain ties with that country despite this war,” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, this includes collaborators in Ukraine’s temporarily occupied territories, as well as former Ukrainian officials who are now somewhere in Europe but remain tied to Russia through documents, connections, and loyalty.

“We will continue our sanctions efforts and coordinate our sanctions under Ukrainian jurisdiction with those of our partners,” the president assured.

As a reminder, Ukraine has imposed sweeping sanctions against Russia, targeting the defense sector, Russian politicians, propagandists, collaborators, and companies linked to the Russian Federation. These restrictions are regularly updated and synchronized with coalition partners (the EU, the U.S., and the G7) to completely isolate the aggressor’s economy.

Main Areas of Ukrainian Sanctions

Military-industrial complex: Blocking enterprises that supply the Russian military with weapons, equipment, spare parts, and fuel.

Personal restrictions: Sanctions against Russian government officials, oligarchs, media figures, as well as Ukrainian collaborators in the occupied territories and former Ukrainian politicians who have fled the country.

Assets and property: Compulsory seizure and confiscation, for the benefit of the state, of property rights and assets that belonged to Russian residents or companies.
