Russia struck warehouses belonging to major companies near Kyiv: what business losses are we talking about?

On the night of August 19–20, Russian troops launched missile strikes on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The attack damaged facilities belonging to several large companies, including a logistics warehouse belonging to a partner of the Varus retail chain, an EKO Market warehouse, the KLO oil depot, distribution centers for “Fora” and “Fayni Lody,” as well as a warehouse containing Yves Rocher products, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
One of the strikes damaged a warehouse in Boryspil used by a Varus logistics partner. Part of the retail chain’s inventory was stored at the facility.
Varus stated that it is currently working with its partner company to assess the extent of the damage and determine all the circumstances of the attack. Due to the damage, some stores may experience temporary shortages of certain items.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure uninterrupted supply and product availability on the shelves,” the company noted.
The chain emphasized that Varus stores are operating as usual.
The Russian attack also damaged an ECO Market warehouse. According to the company’s CEO, Kristina Kovtun, no one was injured.
“All EKO Market supermarkets are operating as usual. The team is already doing everything necessary to ensure that stores are fully stocked and that the necessary goods remain on the shelves,” Kovtun said.
An oil depot belonging to the KLO gas station chain in the Brovary district of Kyiv Oblast was also hit. According to the company, none of its employees were killed or injured. KLO noted that since the start of the full-scale invasion, the company has suffered losses on multiple occasions—in particular, due to the destruction and damage of gas stations.
“Destroying what has been built over the years is the enemy’s tactic. But no one has yet managed to stop KLO,” the company stated.
A warehouse containing Yves Rocher products was also damaged. As a result of the attack, the company has temporarily suspended accepting online orders. In addition, Russian troops destroyed the distribution warehouse of the “Fora” chain. The company had begun using this facility just a week ago. The “Faini Lody” distribution center was also hit during the nighttime attack.
