The international home goods chain JYSK is closing its store in Sumy due to the current security situation, according to JYSK’s Country Director in Ukraine, Yevgen Ivanitsa, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
“Some decisions are among the most difficult for a leader to make. Due to the current security situation in Sumy, we have decided to temporarily close our JYSK store starting July 24. The safety of our colleagues, customers, and their families will always come first. Business can wait—people cannot,” Ivanitsa wrote.
He emphasized that he is proud of the team in Sumy.
“Their resilience, professionalism, and dedication in such difficult circumstances deserve the utmost respect. We sincerely hope that the situation will improve soon and that we will be able to welcome our customers back as soon as possible,” the post reads.
Currently, there are 116 JYSK stores operating in 40 cities across Ukraine, as well as the online store jysk.ua, and the retailer’s network employs nearly 1,000 people here.
