The State Audit Service of Ukraine and its interregional territorial bodies will launch a large-scale audit of expenditures totaling more than 30 billion hryvnia for routine repairs and operational maintenance of highways. This was reported to "Komersant Ukrainian" by the agency’s press service.
The state audit will take place in 22 regions of Ukraine.
Auditors will verify the actual volume and cost of work performed in 2026 on public roads of national importance.
It should be noted that in early June, road services completed the main scheduled work on restoring the road surface on state-significance roads; 14 million square meters were repaired.
Work was carried out in all regions of the country, primarily on routes that facilitate the transport of people and goods, business operations, exports, humanitarian logistics, and national defense.
The largest volumes of work were carried out on the country’s key transportation arteries: M-06 Kyiv–Chop, M-05 Kyiv – Odesa, M-14 Odesa – Melitopol – Novoazovsk, M-29 Kharkiv – Krasnohrad – Pereshchepyne – Dnipro, and M-21 Vystupovychi – Zhytomyr – Mohyliv-Podilskyi.
The government emphasized that, by the end of the season, efforts to restore road infrastructure will focus on frontline regions, particularly on highways that are critical for military logistics and evacuation.
