Former Deputy Prosecutor General files complaint against Ukrainian furniture manufacturer: “They ripped me off”

Former Deputy Prosecutor General David Sakvarelidze stated that he had fallen victim to the unscrupulous Ukrainian furniture manufacturer WOODsystems. He wrote about this on social media, accusing the company of failing to meet deadlines and effectively pocketing the advance payment, according to
According to Sakvarelidze, he signed a contract with the company back in August of last year. The manufacturer promised to fulfill the order “by the end of October—early November at the latest,” after which it received a 75% advance payment.
“They took the 75% prepayment with a smile and just walked away,” he wrote.
The former Deputy Prosecutor General claims that the company is already seven months behind on fulfilling the order. According to him, in January, representatives of WOODsystems explained the delay by saying they had used the client’s funds “to save the company.”

“We spent your money to save the company; we’re waiting for payments from other clients,” Sakvarelidze quoted the company’s representatives as saying.
He also mentioned a conversation with the company’s founder, who, according to the former official, attributed the problems to a Russian “Shahed” kamikaze drone that allegedly crashed into the warehouse two years ago.
“If you keep pressuring us, we’ll declare bankruptcy, and you won’t get anything at all,” Sakvarelidze quoted his interlocutor as saying.
In his post, he also urged Ukrainians not to use the services of this furniture manufacturer and stated that “the quality isn’t worth it at all.”
So far, there has been no public response from WOODsystems to Sakvarelidze’s statements.
