Kyiv after a massive attack by Russia: the number of casualties has risen to 24; there is one fatality, and people remain trapped under the rubble

As a result of Russia’s massive missile attack on Kyiv on the night of August 5, the number of casualties continues to rise. According to the latest reports, 24 people have been injured, four of whom are in critical condition. One fatality has also been confirmed.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

According to the mayor of the capital, as of this morning:
- 24 people were injured as a result of the Russian strike;
- 15 of the injured have been hospitalized;
- 4 of the injured are in critical condition.
Initial reports indicated that three people had been hospitalized, one of whom was in critical condition; however, as new information became available, the number of casualties increased significantly.

Rescuers searched for people under the rubble
The Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv was one of the hardest-hit areas.
A warehouse there was destroyed as a result of the strike.
During the search and rescue operation, rescuers freed two victims.
At the same time, the mayor reported that people may still be trapped under the rubble, so work at the site is continuing.
One person has died
As of 6:12 a.m., medical personnel confirmed the death of one person.
Information regarding the identity of the deceased is not being disclosed at this time.
The rescue operation is ongoing
Rescue efforts are continuing at the sites of the Russian strikes:
- State Emergency Service rescuers;
- medical personnel;
- police;
- utility services.
Experts are clearing debris and verifying reports of people who may still be trapped under the rubble.
Authorities are urging residents of the capital not to ignore air raid sirens and to follow the recommendations of security services.
