Kyiv Under Massive Ballistic Attack: Residential Buildings and Warehouses Are on Fire

On the night of August 4, Russian occupation forces carried out yet another massive ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. A series of powerful explosions rocked the capital; air defense forces are on the scene, and strikes and large-scale fires have already been reported in several districts of the city.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the Ukrainian Air Force, the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA), and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles
At around 12:20 a.m., the Air Force reported a threat of ballistic missile strikes on the capital.
Shortly thereafter, numerous explosions were heard in Kyiv.
Monitoring sources reported a massive launch of ballistic missiles, as well as new high-speed targets from the east and missiles moving from the north.
As of this publication, there is no official confirmation of the number of missiles launched.
Where strikes and fires were recorded
According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the first confirmed strike occurred in the Obolon district on the grounds of a non-residential development.
Subsequently, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported further consequences of the attack.
As of 1:08 a.m., the following damage has been reported:
- Obolon District — a strike on a non-residential building;
- Obolon District — an office building is preliminarily reported to have been damaged;
- Obolon District — fire in a 20-story residential building;
- Obolon District — another fire in a residential building;
- Svyatoshyn District — a fire in a warehouse and emergency medical teams have been dispatched;
- Desnianskyi District — a warehouse is on fire.
- A major fire in the suburbs of the capital, in the Kyiv-Svyatoshyn District. Non-residential premises are on fire.
Information about casualties is being verified.
Authorities are urging residents to remain in shelters
The Kyiv City Military Administration emphasized that the risk of repeated ballistic missile launches remains high.
Residents of the capital are urged not to leave their shelters until the official signal is given that the air raid alert has been lifted.
Emergency services are working at the impact sites, and efforts to address the aftermath of the attack are ongoing.
