What is known about Russian strikes on DTEK facilities

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian forces have been systematically attacking Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, particularly DTEK facilities.

The strikes became particularly large-scale in the spring of 2024, when Russia carried out a series of massive attacks on thermal power generation. As a result of the shelling, the company’s thermal power plants and other energy facilities were seriously damaged or destroyed.

According to DTEK, during the full-scale war, the company’s facilities have suffered dozens of missile and drone attacks. Some of the energy equipment was completely destroyed, and restoring individual facilities requires significant financial resources and time.

After each attack, repair crews carry out emergency restoration work to return the damaged capacity to the power grid as quickly as possible and ensure a stable power supply to consumers.
