There are queues again at the border with Poland: where is the situation most difficult on the evening of June 8

8 June 23:52

As of the evening of June 8, 2026, queues have been reported at several border crossing points along Ukraine’s western border, with the longest lines heading toward Poland. The largest number of passenger cars is expected at the “Shehyni,” “Ustyluh,” and “Krakivets” border crossing points. This was reported by the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

Border guards also warned that when planning trips, travelers should take into account the possibility of unstable operation of the control services’ electronic systems at border crossing points. This may affect the speed of processing and the actual time it takes to cross the border.

Where are the longest lines at the border with Poland

The heaviest traffic on the evening of June 8 was observed specifically in the direction of Poland. According to the State Border Guard Service, the queues for exiting Ukraine were as follows:

  • “Shehyni” — 70 passenger cars, 5 buses; pedestrian traffic is flowing in both directions;
  • “Ustyluh” — 60 passenger cars;

What you need to know before traveling

The State Border Guard Service separately recommends taking into account the possible instability of the electronic systems used by border control services. Even in the absence of long lines, this can affect the speed of border crossing.

It is also worth noting that at some checkpoints:

  • pedestrians are not being allowed through;
  • operate under restricted hours;
  • passenger cars are temporarily not being allowed through, as is the case with “Yagodin.”

Therefore, it is best to check the latest information immediately before your trip.

In a comment "Komersant Ukrainian" spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, explained the reasons for the lines at the checkpoints.

According to him, since the beginning of June, the number of border crossings has increased significantly due to the start of the summer season, the end of the school year, and the beginning of the vacation period.

As a reminder, in May, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine lifted restrictions on traveling abroad for all women without exception. From now on, the right to cross the state border does not depend on whether a woman holds a position in state authorities, local self-government bodies, state-owned enterprises, or courts.
