Norway has made a new contribution of more than 44.6 million euros to the Ukrainian Energy Support Fund. As a result, the Kingdom’s total contribution to the Fund has increased to 209.2 million euros. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy.

“We are grateful to Norway for its consistent support of Ukraine’s energy sector. This latest contribution from our partners to the Fund will help strengthen the resilience of Ukraine’s power grid, particularly as we prepare for the upcoming heating season. Thanks to donor contributions, the Fund is used to procure the most essential equipment for restoring damaged energy facilities and developing generating capacity. These tasks are among our key priorities today,” emphasized Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund (UESF) was established in the spring of 2022 in agreement with the European Commission and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to counter the effects of Russian attacks targeting critical energy infrastructure.

In total, since the Ukraine Energy Support Fund began operations, it has received grant funds totaling more than 2 billion euros from 39 foreign sponsors representing 26 partner countries and 3 international organizations.

This an effective tool that enables governments, international financial institutions, international organizations, and corporate donors to provide financial support for the Ukrainian energy sector’s efforts to repair this damage and ensure uninterrupted operations.
