28 April 17:45
On April 20–24, the Defense Ministry’s state-owned enterprise “Defense Procurement Agency” signed contracts worth billions of hryvnias for the purchase of drones. This involves over 14,000 drones worth 2.46 billion hryvnias, which are expected to enhance the military’s capabilities in the near future. This information is available on theProzorro public procurement system, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
In total, contracts were signed for 14,125 drones of various types. Some of the agreements are still in the signing stage. At the same time, the tenders resulted in savings of over 100 million hryvnias.
Which drones were purchased
The largest share of purchases was for popular models used for reconnaissance and fire control.
In particular, thousands of Matrice and Autel kits were purchased. These drones are actively used on the front lines due to their functionality and relative affordability.
Prices for most models are close to the market average or to those already recorded in government procurements this year. In some cases, the government even buys them at a lower price.
