The Rada has appointed a new Cabinet of Ministers: who heads the ministries

The Verkhovna Rada approved the appointment of the new Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. 264 members of parliament voted in favor of the corresponding draft resolution. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

The new composition of the government is as follows:

Denys Anatoliyovych Shmyhal – First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy of Ukraine;

Tetyana Vasylivna Berezhna – Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine for Humanitarian Policy – Minister of Culture of Ukraine;

Vsevolod Valeriyovych Chentsov – Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine;

Vitaliy Yuriyovych Bezgin – Minister of Communities, Territories, and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine;

Matvii Viktorovich Bidnyi – Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine;

Andriy Petrovych Butenko – Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine;

Ivan Mykhailovych Vygivskyi – Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine;

Taras Mykolayovych Vysotsky – Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine;

Mykola Volodymyrovych Kalashnyk – Minister of Recovery, Infrastructure, and Transport of Ukraine;

Vitaliy Oleksandrovych Kim – Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine;

Oleksandr Serhiyovych Kravchenko – Minister of Economy and Environment of Ukraine;

Viktor Kyrylovych Lyashko – Minister of Health of Ukraine;

Serhiy Mykhailovych Marchenko – Minister of Finance of Ukraine;

Denis Vyacheslavovich Maslov – Minister of Justice of Ukraine;

Denis Valeriyovych Ulyutin – Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine;

Oksana Vitaliivna Ferchuk – Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

A separate vote on the candidates for Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs is to take place at a later date. According to Article 114 of the Constitution of Ukraine, the appointment of the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Foreign Affairs takes place exclusively upon the recommendation of the President of Ukraine.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently announced another round of personnel changes in the Cabinet of Ministers. On July 14, the Verkhovna Rada accepted Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko’s resignation. In accordance with Article 115 of the Constitution and Article 15 of the Law on the Cabinet of Ministers, this resulted in the resignation of the entire government.

On July 16, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Serhiy Koretskyi as Prime Minister of Ukraine; he had previously served as chairman of Naftogaz. His nomination was approved by 289 members of parliament.
