Russia attacked energy facilities in six regions; there have been new power outages

Russian occupation forces continue to attack Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. On the morning of August 3, enemy shelling left communities in six regions of Ukraine partially without power.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Ukrenergo.
Where power outages occurred due to Russian attacks
According to energy officials, new emergency power outages were recorded in:
- Donetsk Oblast;
- Dnipropetrovsk Oblast;
- Kharkiv Oblast;
- Mykolaiv Oblast;
- Kherson Oblast;
- Sumy Oblast.
Ukrenergo noted that emergency repair work is already underway wherever the security situation allows.
“As a result of Russian shelling, as of this morning there are new power outages in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Sumy regions. Emergency repair work is already underway wherever security conditions permit,” the company reported.
Electricity consumption has risen sharply
In addition to the effects of the shelling, energy officials reported a significant increase in the load on the power grid.
As of the morning of August 3, electricity consumption was 4.4% higher than on the morning of the previous business day— July 31.
This was caused by abnormally hot weather across nearly the entire territory of Ukraine.
According to experts, Ukrainians are using air conditioners on a massive scale, which is placing an additional strain on the power grid.

Ukrenergo has appealed to Ukrainians
Energy officials urged citizens to use electricity wisely and, if possible, to shift the use of the most energy-intensive appliances to daytime hours.
The best time for active electricity consumption is:
- from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., when industrial solar power plants operate at maximum efficiency.
This approach helps reduce the load on the power grid during peak consumption hours.
Massive drone attack
On the night of August 3, Russia carried out another large-scale attack on Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, starting at 6:00 p.m. on August 2, the enemy launched 181 attacks using Shahed-type strike UAVs (including jet-powered ones), “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and “Parody”-type decoy drones from the following directions: Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Orel, Shatalovo (Russian Federation), as well as the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk and Gvardeyskoye in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 7:30 a.m. on August 3, air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 163 drones in the north, south, and east of the country.
Strikes by 14 attack UAVs were recorded at 13 locations, and the downed drones (debris) were found at two locations.
