Russia launched a missile attack on Odesa for the third time today; there are fatalities and injuries

On the evening of July 16, Russian occupation forces launched another missile strike on Odesa. This is the third attack on the city in the past 24 hours. Two people were killed in the shelling, and at least six others were injured, including three children. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration; Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration; and the State Emergency Service.
Residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure were hit by enemy fire.
According to Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, the attack damaged residential buildings, non-residential facilities, and other civilian infrastructure. Fires broke out at the sites of the strikes.
Two people are known to have been killed and six wounded.
Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa City Military Administration, reported that as of this evening, the deaths of two people have been confirmed.
It is also known that at least six people were injured, including three children. All victims are receiving the necessary medical care.
Rescue and emergency services continue to work at the sites of the strikes; the number of casualties may be updated.



Fires and destruction following the missile attack
According to local authorities, the missile strike caused:
- damage to residential buildings;
- destruction of civilian infrastructure;
- large-scale fires;
- rescue operations at several locations simultaneously.
State Emergency Service specialists are clearing up the aftermath of the shelling and checking the areas for new fires.
This is the third attack on Odesa in the past 24 hours
On July 16, Russian troops attacked Odesa several times.
In the morning, rockets damaged a gas station and an educational institution—windows were shattered and the roof was damaged. No reports of casualties were received at that time.
In the afternoon, Russia launched another missile strike on a civilian infrastructure facility. According to preliminary reports, one person was killed and several others were injured.
The evening shelling was yet another attack on the city and resulted in further casualties.
Odesa has been under heavy shelling for several days in a row
The day before, on July 15, Russia also carried out a powerful missile strike on Odesa.
Three people were killed and eight others were injured. In the wake of the tragedy, July 16 was declared a Day of Mourning in the city.
