24 May 18:02

The Lukyanivska metro station in Kyiv has resumed operations and is open for passengers entering and exiting in the direction of Yuri Illenko Street. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the Kyiv Metro.

“At the same time, the entrance/exit in the direction of the Kvadrat shopping center is temporarily closed,” the Kyiv Metro reported.

Consequences of the Russian attack

On the night of May 24, Russian occupiers carried out another massive attack on the capital. All 10 districts came under fire. As a result of the enemy strikes, infrastructure in the area of the Lukyanivska metro station sustained significant damage. This location, which has already been targeted by shelling on multiple occasions, suffered extensive damage this time—the retail spaces that provided jobs and served thousands of Kyiv residents were effectively destroyed.

This morning, the Kyiv Metro announced that the Lukyanivska station on the Syretsko-Pecherska “green” line will be temporarily closed to passenger traffic due to damage caused by the blast wave to the ground-level entrance hall.
