Global agricultural leader ADM suspends operations at its plant in Chornomorsk: the company has cited the reason

Global agribusiness giant Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) is suspending operations at its oil extraction plant in Chornomorsk following damage sustained during a drone attack on April 26.
This was reported by Latifundist, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
“Operations at ADM’s oil extraction plant in Chornomorsk, Ukraine, remain suspended following damage caused by a drone strike on April 26, 2026. The safety of our employees is our top priority, and we continue to closely monitor the situation,” ADM stated.
According to the publication’s sources, the company has also temporarily halted raw material procurement.
Restoration work is underway at the facility, and the extent of the damage is being assessed.

Earlier, in April 2026, it was reported that ADM was selling its last grain elevator in Ukraine. This refers to the ADM “Kam’yansky” elevator in the Cherkasy region.

The corporation’s Ukrainian subsidiary, ADM Ukraine LLC, saw its revenue drop by 31%, from 43.4 billion UAH to 29.8 billion UAH, according to YouControl data. Net loss doubled—from 555 million to 1.22 billion UAH. The company’s liabilities (18.4 billion UAH) exceed its assets (15.5 billion UAH).
On April 26, 2026, Russian shelling damaged the infrastructure of the Chornomorsk commercial seaport. The main environmental consequence was the destruction of a 6,000-ton sunflower oil tank, which led to a spill of over 1,100 tons of oil and the formation of an oil slick in the water area.
