The Deposit Insurance Fund revealed how much it has paid out to depositors of bankrupt banks

From January through June 2026, the Deposit Guarantee Fund for Individuals paid out 18 million UAH in guaranteed compensation to depositors of banks undergoing liquidation. Specifically, in June, depositors received over 1.3 million hryvnias in compensation. This was reported by the Fund’s press service, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

Total amount of payments

“In total, since the Fund’s inception, the amount of guaranteed compensation payments has reached 105.1 billion UAH. Compensation was received by everyone who applied for it—more than 2 million, or 96.1%, of bank depositors,” the statement reads.

According to reports, during the full-scale war, the Fund paid 9.4 billion UAH in guaranteed compensation to depositors of banks undergoing liquidation.

The Fund notes that payments are made exclusively from its own resources. As of June 30, 2026, the Fund’s assets totaled 54.4 billion hryvnias.

During martial law in Ukraine, a full guarantee on bank deposits is in effect. It applies to term deposits as well as funds in checking accounts held by individuals and sole proprietors.This guarantee regime has been in effect since April 13, 2022, and will remain in place throughout the period of martial law and for an additional three months after its lifting.

The Fund also reminds the public that guaranteed reimbursement can be obtained through the “Diya” app.
