Kyiv to restrict traffic on Troyeshchyna bridge until the end of the year

In Kyiv, starting May 9 and tentatively until the end of 2025, traffic will be partially restricted across the Desenka River bridge. This is reported by the Kyiv City State Administration with reference to the Kyivavtoshlyakhmist utility company, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Due to the repair of the bridge, traffic will be limited to the second, third and fourth lanes in the direction of the Pochayna metro station. Traffic will be organized in two separate lanes on the opposite side of the bridge in the direction of the Troyeshchyna residential area.
Public transportation from the left to the right bank will be maintained in the rightmost lane for public transportation.

In case of changes or early resumption of traffic, the KCSA will inform additionally.
During this period, the utility company’s specialists will carry out emergency repairs of the road bridge over the Desenka Strait on an 800-meter-long section in the direction of the Pochayna metro station.
In particular, the road builders will perform
- partial restoration of the bridge’s load-bearing structures;
- replacement of girders of the span structures;
- repair of supports and reinforced concrete slab of the roadway;
- arranging a new waterproofing layer and asphalt concrete pavement.
Kyivavtoshlyakhmist reminded that the bridge over the Desenka River was built in 1974, with the last major overhaul carried out in 2005.
For safe operation, the utility company’s specialists regularly carry out the necessary repairs. In particular, in 2022-2024, the entire roadway was repaired from the right to the left bank and partially in the opposite direction.
The KCSA apologized for the temporary inconvenience and urged to take into account the restrictions when planning the route, as well as to be careful, follow the traffic rules and pay attention to temporary traffic signs.
