The death toll in Kyiv has risen following a massive Russian strike on the night of May 14. As of 6:00 a.m., rescue workers have confirmed the deaths of 24 people, including three children. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
The search and rescue operation in the Darnytskyi district is ongoing, as people may still be trapped under the rubble of the high-rise building.
The day before, the casualty figures were updated several times as rescuers continued to clear the rubble and find people trapped under the collapsed structures. Earlier, the State Emergency Service reported 16 deaths, including two children, and noted that the death toll could rise due to the ongoing search operation.
What is known about the aftermath of the strike on Kyiv
The situation is most dire in the Darnytskyi district of the capital, where a Russian strike destroyed part of a high-rise residential building. It is there that rescuers have been continuously clearing debris for the second day in a row.
According to updated data, a total of 47 people were injured in the attack on Kyiv, including two children. Rescuers managed to evacuate 30 people alive from the danger zones.

The search is ongoing, so the numbers of victims and injured may change. Earlier, when the death toll reached 9, the State Emergency Service and city authorities reported that there could still be about two dozen people trapped under the rubble.





Rescuers have cleared over 3,000 cubic meters of debris
A large-scale search and rescue operation is underway at the site of the explosion. According to the State Emergency Service, 3,180 cubic meters of building debris have already been removed.
K-9 teams have searched an area of 2,800 square meters. Rescuers, K-9 handlers, police officers, medical personnel, utility workers, and psychologists are involved in the operation.
Hundreds of people have received psychological assistance
Specialists from the State Emergency Service and the police are working intensively with victims, residents of the destroyed building, and relatives of the deceased.
Psychological assistance has already been provided to 398 people. Assistance centers have also been set up on-site where residents can file claims for damaged property and begin the process of replacing lost documents.
