Strike on Kyiv: death toll rises to 8, 88 wounded

As a result of the nighttime Russian attack on Kyiv, the death toll has risen to eight people and the number of wounded to 88. These figures are not final, said Timur Tkachenko, head of the city military administration (MVA), "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“A dead man was pulled out from the rubble of the entrance of a house destroyed by a Russian missile in Svyatoshinsky district. As a result of the strike on this house, six people were killed, and the total number of victims in Kyiv is 8,” he wrote.
In addition, Tkachenko said on the air of the telethon that the number of victims had increased to 88 people. Of these, 46 were hospitalized. At least 10 children are among the wounded.
“46 are in hospitals. A 6-year-old boy died in an ambulance, he could not be resuscitated. At least 10 wounded children, 5 of them in hospitals. It was done by Russians. A 5-month-old girl is wounded – she was shot by Russians,” he wrote.
According to the MVA, over 100 objects were damaged in Kyiv overnight: residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, medical facilities, a university, and a direct missile hit destroyed the entrance of a nine-story building in Sviatoshynskyi district.
Rescuers pulled a man out of the rubble of a destroyed stairwell in Kyiv. The operation lasted three hours.
According to the State Emergency Service, the man fell from the second floor to the first floor and was trapped by the structures. Rescuers maintained voice contact with him.
It was difficult to reach the victim: rescuers punched a hole in the wall of the neighboring apartment and formed a kind of tunnel. Special fixators were put on the man so as not to harm him during the rescue, the statement said.





According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, search and rescue operations in the capital are underway at two locations, and emergency rescue operations are underway at six locations. The maximum involvement of equipment and specialists is being made at the sites of the impacts to save people. As of now, there are 7 dead and more than fifty injured.
As a reminder, on the night of July 31, Russia launched 317 drones and missiles at Ukraine. The main target of the attack was Kyiv. Air defense and electronic warfare units intercepted 288 UAVs and three Iskander-K cruise missiles.
