Ukraine will be covered by the Heiko anticyclone: weather forecast for February 27

On Friday, February 27, weather conditions in Europe will be determined by two powerful atmospheric processes. The coastal part of the continent will be under the influence of the active cyclone Chiara, located off Scandinavia, while most of continental Europe, including Ukraine, will be in the zone of the anticyclone Heiko. This was reported by forecaster Natalka Didenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
What will the weather be like in Ukraine on February 27?
The Heiko anticyclone will bring dry, cool air.
Air temperature:
- at night: -2…-8°, in the Carpathians up to -12°;
- during the day: from -2° to 3°,
- in the south and west: 2…8°.
Variable cloudiness is expected. Precipitation is unlikely, only in Crimea at night there may be light wet snow and rain due to the passage of an atmospheric front.

Additional weather features
- Fog is possible in the northern regions at night and in the morning.
- On the roads, except in the south and Transcarpathia, there will be slippery conditions in places.
- The wind will be southeasterly, in the eastern and southern regions — northerly, 5–10 m/s.

Weather in Kyiv
Precipitation is unlikely in the capital on February 27.
- At night, temperatures will drop to -4°,
- during the day around 0°.
Warning about rising water levels
From February 26 to March 2, due to rising air temperatures and snowmelt, water levels are expected to rise on:
- the Southern Bug River section (Oleksandrivka – Mykolaiv);
- the tributaries of the Southern Bug basin (Savranka, Kodima, Hnily Tikych, Chornyi Tashlyk, Velyka Vys, Mertvovid);
- the Ingul River and its tributaries in the Kirovohrad region.
Water retention is possible in the floodplains of the Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions (level I hazard – yellow).
In Kropyvnytskyi, partial flooding of some coastal streets is possible (Level II hazard – orange).

What is happening in Europe
Meanwhile, Cyclone Chiara will bring strong winds and precipitation to the coastal regions of Europe. The greatest impact is expected in the northern and western parts of the continent.
Thus, Ukraine will be in a zone of more stable but cool weather.
