Over the past month, Ukraine has seen a decline in prices for certain dairy products, including Dutch cheese, Maasdam, and mozzarella.

This was reported by the Association of Milk Producers (AMP), according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to the AMU, the average price of Ukrainian cheese with 50% fat content is now 609.93 UAH per kg. This is only 1.13 UAH more than a month ago, but 57.96 UAH more than during the same period last year.

The situation with 45% fat Dutch cheese is somewhat different. Its average price has dropped by 9.67 UAH over the month and now stands at 600.38 UAH per kg. However, compared to last year, the price has risen by 29.43 UAH.

As for Maasdam cheese with 45% fat content, its price has decreased by 37.86 UAH over the month, reaching 730.51 UAH per kg. At the same time, the price is 74.87 UAH higher than in April of last year.

Imported and Domestic Products

Imported products also continue to influence the market. Gouda cheese with 45% fat content from Ukrainian producers costs 609.15 UAH per kg, which is 21.42 UAH more than a month ago. However, the imported equivalent of this cheese costs 439.00 UAH per kg, 28% cheaper.

Ukrainian-produced mozzarella with 45% fat content has dropped in price by 19.95 UAH over the past month, with an average price of 545.06 UAH per kg. Imported mozzarella, on the other hand, costs 649.00 UAH per kg, which is 19% more expensive.

Declining purchasing power and low demand for dairy products in the domestic market are holding back price increases.

In January–March 2026, Ukraine produced 1.31 million tons of raw milk, which is 10% less than in the same period last year, a factor that also influences pricing policy.
