From Confiscation to Privatization: How the State Is Selling Off Povaliy’s Assets

20 April 17:55

The State Property Fund of Ukraine has begun preparations to sell the confiscated home of singer Taisiya Povaliy, along with the land plot, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The property in question became state-owned at the end of 2025: the house in December and the land plot in the fall.

How the sale will proceed

The procedure involves several stages:

  1. Initial inspection
Recording the technical condition of the property and the assets present.
  2. Valuation
Selection of an independent appraiser to determine the market price.
  3. Review
    Review of the appraisal report.
  4. Auction
Putting the house and lot up for public auction.

According to the Fund’s estimates, the preparation will take about four months.

What exactly will be sold

The lot includes not only real estate:

  • a residential house,
  • land plot,
  • household goods (furniture, household items, and other belongings).

All of this will be taken into account during the appraisal. At the same time, the final decision regarding the future of the property will be made by the new owner.

Where the proceeds will go

The proceeds from the sale will go to the state budget.

Among the priorities:

  • funding state needs,
  • support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Role of the State Property Fund

The State Property Fund of Ukraine continues its active policy of privatization and management of confiscated assets.

According to official data:

  • in 2025, 380 auctions were held,
  • and 3.4 billion UAH was raised for the budget.

This case is part of a broader trend—the conversion of confiscated property into budget revenue.
