14 April 18:32
Russian troops have intensified their offensive on strategically important cities in the Donetsk region and are already fighting for control of the so-called “belt of Ukrainian strongholds.”
This was stated by military analyst and co-chair of the public initiative “Prava Sprava” Dmytro Snegirev in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".
“It’s 12 kilometers to Sloviansk and 16 to Kramatorsk. Fighting for Kostiantynivka is already underway,” he noted.
According to the expert, combat operations are taking place both in Kostiantynivka itself and on its flanks.

“The occupiers are trying to encircle our positions from the flanks,” Snegirev explained.
The analyst emphasized that Russian forces have effectively moved to a new phase—the assault on a fortified urban agglomeration. This refers to a line of defense that includes Kostiantynivka, Druzhkivka, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk.
The risk of losing these cities remains high
Snegirev assesses the risks to Ukrainian positions as serious. He also drew attention to the advance of Russian troops specifically in the Sloviansk direction. According to the analyst, even in the event of negotiations, Russia will not abandon its goals and will continue to apply pressure.
