NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has arrived in Kyiv

3 June 12:18

Mark Rutte, Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, arrived in Kyiv on the morning of June 3 for an official visit. The distinguished guest was met at the capital’s main train station, according to "Komersant Ukrainian", citing “Ukrzaliznytsia.”

“Today, we warmly welcome NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the Kyiv train station. This visit is extremely important, just like all the previous ones, as it is a gesture of solidarity and support from the Alliance for our country,” the carrier’s post reads.

For security reasons, Mark Rutte’s visit was not announced, just as in previous instances. Mark Rutte last visited Kyiv in early February. In particular, he visited one of Kyiv’s thermal power plants, which had been destroyed by Russian shelling.

In early May, the NATO Secretary General held a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, during which they discussed defense support for Ukraine and attracting new contributions to the PURL program.
