17 June 12:38
The “ECO Market” supermarket chain is expanding its presence in Chernihiv. Avanta Trading House LLC has signed an agreement to acquire four retail properties from the Eurotek group of companies, which included the Soyuz and Kvartal supermarkets. This was reported by the Ukrainian Retailers Association, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
The new stores will begin operating under the “ECO Market” brand as early as mid-June. The company states that it will offer shoppers a wide range of products, a comfortable shopping environment, and the level of service typical of the chain.
Which locations did “ECO Market” acquire?
These are four retail locations in Chernihiv that were previously part of the “Eurotek” group of companies. The “Soyuz” and “Kvartal” supermarkets, well-known in the city, belonged to this group.
Once the deal is finalized, these retail spaces will come under the management of “ECO Market” and will operate as part of the chain’s supermarket format.
Where the new stores will open
The new “ECO Market” supermarkets in Chernihiv will open at the following addresses:
- 35 Myru Avenue;
- 253 Myru Avenue;
- 67 Peremohy Avenue;
- 40 Ivana Bohuna Street.
These locations are intended to strengthen the chain’s presence in various parts of the city and make the stores more accessible to shoppers near their homes.
How many “ECO Market” stores will there be in Chernihiv?
After the new stores open, the total number of ECO Market supermarkets in Chernihiv will increase to eight.
This will allow the chain to become one of the city’s largest retail operators and intensify competition in the local grocery retail market.
Why is the company expanding specifically in Chernihiv?
The company emphasizes that Chernihiv holds special significance for “ECO Market.” It was in this city that the chain opened its first supermarket in 2003.
“We are consistently implementing our chain’s development strategy and investing in regions with significant potential. Chernihiv is a landmark city for us, as it was here in 2003 that we opened our first ECO Market supermarket,” the company stated.
ECO Market notes that expanding the chain will allow it to be closer to customers and make daily shopping faster and more convenient.

What Customers Will Get
The new supermarkets promise shoppers a wide range of products, great deals, and a comfortable shopping experience.
The company emphasizes that the stores will operate in the chain’s usual format—offering everyday essentials, household goods, promotional deals, and neighborhood service.
Impact on the local economy
The opening of the new supermarkets will also have an economic impact on Chernihiv. This includes the creation of additional jobs, the development of local retail, and an increase in tax revenue.
For the city, this also means that some of the retail space previously occupied by “Soyuz” and “Kvartal” will not remain vacant but will continue to operate in the grocery sector.
What Is Known About the Closure of the “Soyuz” and “Kvartal” Chains
Earlier, reports emerged in Chernihiv about the closure of “Soyuz” and “Kvartal” stores. The “Eurotek” Group of Companies explained this as a strategic decision to wind down its retail business. This applied not only to the Chernihiv chains but also to the group’s other retail formats, including “Arsen” and “Fresh.”
Against this backdrop, the arrival of “ECO Market” at some of the former “Soyuz” and “Kvartal” locations became major news for the local market.
