Former director of an armored vehicle plant sentenced: the court’s ruling

The High Anti-Corruption Court has approved a plea agreement with the former director of the Zhytomyr Armored Vehicle Plant in a case involving the embezzlement of state property.
This was reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
The case involves the disappearance of 20 UTD-20 engines belonging to the State Reserve Agency of Ukraine. The total amount of damages exceeds 5.7 million hryvnias.
The court found the former director guilty of embezzlement on a particularly large scale by abusing his official position.
Under the terms of the agreement, the court sentenced him to eight years in prison, with the confiscation of part of his property and a three-year ban on holding positions in the public sector.
However, the convicted individual was effectively released from serving his sentence with a probationary period.

Terms of the Agreement
The former director is required to compensate for the damages caused and comply with probation requirements.
In particular, he must regularly report to the supervising authorities and notify them of any change of residence or employment.
A separate financial obligation is also stipulated.
The convicted individual must transfer 12 million hryvnias to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the “Come Back Alive” fund, according to the verdict.
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office emphasizes that the agreement includes both an admission of guilt and concrete financial obligations.
As a reminder, the case regarding the embezzlement of property at the Zhytomyr Armored Plant was referred to court back in 2023.
This refers to an enterprise that is part of the country’s defense infrastructure.
