The bronze medal match at the World Cup was full of drama: England had all but sealed the deal against France in the first half, but nearly let their lead slip away. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing RBC-Ukraine.

France vs. England: Match Recap

The English national team surprised their opponents with an early goal: Declan Rice opened the scoring just three minutes into the game. Fifteen minutes later, Rice provided the assist— Ezri Konsa scored England’s second goal.

Bukayo Saka then scored a brace: on the first goal, he found the back of the French net off a pass from Rashford, while on the second, he was assisted by Eberechi Eze.

With the score at 0–4, there was little suspense left in the match. But early in the second half, the French national team scored three goals in 18 minutes! Michael Olise delivered yet another perfect pass to Kylian Mbappé, who got on the scoreboard. Then Mbappé set up Bradley Barcol for a great scoring opportunity, and Barcol left Henderson with no chance.

In the closing moments, France managed to pull within one goal: in stoppage time, Ousmane Dembélé finished off another French attack, but Didier Deschamps’s team was unable to avoid defeat. In the end, Jude Bellingham sealed the victory with a goal in the eighth minute of stoppage time.
