“Stealing is in their DNA”: Plagiarism of Lviv’s “Drunken Cherry” uncovered in Russia
1 June 19:59
A restaurant called “Kon’ i Vishnya” has opened in Kazan, Russia, and its exterior is almost an exact replica of the Lviv-based chain “P’yana Vishnya,” according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
What is known about the theft
On May 15, a restaurant named “Kon’ i Vishnya” opened in Kazan. The logo of the new establishment is almost identical to that of Lviv’s “P’yana Vishnya.” It features a red-haired girl holding a cherry and a steak. As noted on the restaurant’s Instagram page, it is a steakhouse-cabaret.

“Kon i Vyshnia” not only copied the logo but also used the same font for all its lettering. The restaurant’s menu also features cherry liqueur, served in the same glasses as at the original Lviv establishment. The labels on the cherry liqueur bottles are also indistinguishable from the originals.

Reaction from the owners of “P’yana Vyshnia”
The “!Fest” Emotions Holding, which owns “Drunken Cherry,” is aware of the theft. The holding’s PR director, Taras Maselko, expressed his surprise in a comment to Zaxid.net:
“This isn’t the first time the Russians have stolen. It’s a ridiculous distortion—what else can I say? These are comical thefts in business involving the distortion and replication of successful Ukrainian business models. We will not take any action because, while in the civilized world one can still speak of some accountability, in the ‘swamps’—no. This country attacked us and steals from us; stealing is in their DNA.”
